Law No. 7582: the upper limit of the postponement period has been expanded
The maximum period for deferment of public receivables has been increased; Checking of application, evaluation and other conditions continues.
With Law No. 7582, the maximum period in the provision regulating the postponement of public receivables was increased from 36 months to 72 months. GIB's explanatory information note discusses the change within the scope of the collection procedure of public receivables.
Increasing the maximum period does not mean that every debt is automatically paid into installments or the debt is erased. The type of debt suitable for deferment, application, evaluation of payment difficulty, interest and collateral conditions are also important.
When preparing a payment plan, businesses should not only rely on the maximum period in the law. The evaluation of the authorized collection office and the current implementation rules on the date of the transaction should be checked. This news is not a promise of amnesty or automatic restructuring, but a limited summary of the law change.
